If you’ve been mattress shopping, you’ve probably heard “comfort exchange” and “warranty”
thrown around like they mean the same thing, but it’s important to know the difference before
making an investment. One is about making sure your mattress feels right once you’ve actually
slept on it, and the other is about fixing a manufacturing defect, and we’ll take care of both
Testing a mattress in the showroom gives you a good starting point, and even after a thorough
test, it still takes time for your body to fully adjust once you get it home.
Your body will likely start to adjust after a few weeks, and that’s when you really learn how it
feels. It’s a bit like any good relationship. The first impression matters, but how it holds up night
after night is what really counts.
A comfort exchange gives you the opportunity to adjust the feel once you’ve had time to live
with the mattress. If something doesn’t feel quite right, we’ll work with you to make adjustments
(because we know flexibility is important in the bedroom).
For innerspring builds, this usually means bringing the mattress back to our factory, rebuilding it
to better match your body’s needs, and returning it to you. Local customers often see that
turnaround happen as quickly as same day. Our Nirvana® collection works a little differently
because of its latex construction, which is built as a complete system. Instead, we offer a one-
time exchange window that gives you time to settle in and make sure the feel is exactly right.
Sometimes it is as simple as adjusting the firmness. Other times, it means splitting the mattress
in half so both sides match what each person prefers. Either way, the point is that you are not
stuck lying there wishing you were satisfied.
A warranty covers issues related to how the mattress was made, not how it feels. If there’s a
manufacturing defect, we take care of it. During the guaranteed period, that’s handled at no
charge. After that, we shift to a prorated model, so there may be a cost depending on how long you’ve had the mattress. This is more about how the mattress holds up over time, not how it
feels night to night.
Sleep affects much more than just the hours you spend in bed. It shapes your ability to take on
the day, to perform at work, to show up for yourself and your loved ones.
That’s why our focus is on comfort and support rather than labels. Firm, medium, or plush only
goes so far. What matters is how the mattress responds to you and how it holds up once you
are actually using it. At its best, your mattress should feel so good you don’t even feel it at all.
A comfort exchange gives you the ability to adjust the feel once you’ve slept on it, and a
warranty protects you if something is wrong with the build. They cover two different parts of your
investment, and they both play a role in getting it right.
If you are going to spend a third of your life in bed, it should make you want to Stop Sleeping
